Gads hand sewing takes forever! I can see why people had so little clothes!

I found the over chemes was a little to tight so I'm adding about 3" to the side seams. Of course that means I had to open up both side seams and then re-sew them leaving me with 2 more seams to finsish :-(

I've almost finished the purple silk pants! Just need to hem and trim the cuffs. I found out you must leave about 4 inches of the seam open if you want to get your foot though. Maybe that was why there was a note about checking the measurement of your foot on the diagonal from the top to the heel? no problem though ( Read more... )

I've done a lot of work on the pants thanks to Kate and Liz! With help I decided on making the pants out of the purple silk my friend Keir gave me. I'm making the outside of the coat in the black fabric and the lining in the teal silk.
